This year, our school is introducing Amplify Desmos Math, a new math program created for NYC Public Schools. The goal is simple: help students see math as meaningful, engaging, and connected to the real world.
With Amplify Desmos Math, students will:
We’re excited to use this program for the first time and to watch our students grow as problem solvers this school year!
Our school uses HMH Into Reading, a comprehensive literacy program designed to develop reading, writing, and comprehension skills while fostering a love for learning. The curriculum offers engaging fiction and nonfiction texts, personalized support for students at different levels, and tools to monitor progress. It also integrates social-emotional learning themes to promote empathy and resilience. With family engagement activities included, parents can actively support their child’s literacy journey at home.
Passport to Social Studies is the NYC DOE’s inquiry-based curriculum that helps students explore history, geography, economics, and civics through engaging lessons. It encourages critical thinking and analysis of diverse perspectives using primary sources, maps, and artifacts. The program fosters empathy and social-emotional learning while developing research, writing, and discussion skills. Through this approach, students build an understanding of their community, the broader world, and their role as informed citizens.
We are proud to continue using Amplify Science, a hands-on program that helps students think, investigate, and discover like real scientists. Lessons are built around real-world problems and give students opportunities to explore, ask questions, and find solutions.
At our school, science learning goes beyond the classroom with our Hydroponics Lab, where students grow plants and study ecosystems first hand. This unique space allows students to apply what they learn in Amplify Science to real experiments—connecting science concepts to the world around them.
Through reading, writing, discussion, and hands-on activities, Amplify Science and our Hydroponics Lab work together to deepen students’ curiosity and understanding of how science shapes everyday life.
Our school is proud to be a 1:1 school, which means every student has access to their own device for learning. Technology is woven into daily instruction to support collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.
Students use digital tools to research, create projects, and connect with resources that extend learning beyond the classroom. With access to platforms like Google Classroom and educational apps, students build the skills they need to succeed in a digital world while staying safe and responsible online.
Being a 1:1 school ensures that all students have the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow with technology at their fingertips.
This year, we are excited to offer Art and Music as cluster classes. These programs give students the opportunity to explore their creativity and develop new ways to express themselves.
In Art, students work with different materials and techniques while learning how to observe, create, and communicate through visual expression.
In Music, students explore rhythm, melody, and performance, building confidence and collaboration along the way.
Through Art and Music, students grow as creative thinkers while discovering the joy of the arts.
